The unincorporated community of Arnold had its start as a farm settlement, belonging to John Arnold, near the mouth of the Severn River. Since the early 1800s, Arnold has magnified in size to serve as home to an estimated 23,500 residents in the eastern region of Anne Arundel County. Nestled between both the Severn and the Magothy Rivers, this community spans a total of roughly 13.4 square miles near the state’s longest highway, Maryland Route 2.
